BLOG POST 2 / YOU KNOW IT'S A GOOD PHOTO SHOOT WHEN THE COPS SHOW UP

We had our first photo shoot for Dinner with Friends today. And then the cops showed up. It looked like it was gonna get hairy there for a minute (not really), but it turned out to be just a big misunderstanding...some inside joke I could only hear bits and pieces of from my vantage point. But it gave the shoot a little edge, nonetheless.

Root and $craps$ are the newest tenants in the iconic Warnor's Theatre building in downtown Fresno. The corner theater and its looming marquee are the epicenter of change in the area. New shops, lots of construction...the beginning of a new downtown. The Warnor's Theatre is also one of Fresno's most historic buildings, so there's an interesting juxtaposition of old and new at play.

What else is interesting, is the friendship between shop owners -- Tony Stamolis of $crap$, and Root's Kirk and Cassey. It was this friendship that provided the inspiration for today's shoot and our first couple of pieces for the website (more to come on those later). But for now, enjoy a little BTS magic from today's shoot, and the obvious friendship and camaraderie among a couple of shop owners who believe in what Fresno can be. And took the bold step of doing something about it.
