Dinner with Friends
A design-focused, quarterly lifestyle magazine celebrating California's Central Valley, one dinner party at a time.

Sometimes less is more. But when it comes to dinner parties, we think the more, the better. Even if they’re not our own. Case in point: Sage & Time’s first gathering held last week at arguably the most photogenic house in Fresno, the Tower House.

In their own words, here’s what this new creative collective is all about:

Sage & Time is a community built for creatives, freelancers and small business owners, designed to support people and creativity—a place to bring our skills around the table. Every quarter, Sage & Time will hold a dinner inviting individuals to bring their professional craft as a creative offering for the evening—each with something different to contribute to the dinner‘s success.

It was an honor to be included in the first dinner. And it was nice (if unfamiliar) to be a guest for once. The dinner was a perfect collection of old friends, past collaborators, current collaborators and new faces. And, in a nutshell, it totally reinforced our belief in the power of dinner parties with every belly laugh, sip of wine and story shared that night.

Being a part of the event brought us back to the concept of collaboration over competition that we see so often in the Central Valley. Locally, there is such a readiness to help others succeed that is really special and unique to our area. Bringing creatives and business owners together in the way Sage & Time does is a great way to keep that going.

It also had us asking ourselves: What are we bringing to the table? Which isn’t a bad question to ask yourself every now and again. Staying conscious of your contribution and the impact of your work is important for growth and change.

We cannot wait to see all the great things Sage & Time does in the Valley. Now, let’s roll the credits so you can get to know everyone who made the inaugural dinner party so fantastic!

The founders of Sage & Time are: Simon Biasell, Holly Clinard, Alex Costa, Yvette Goltiao, Cassey James, Sal Lucatero and Haley Wagner.
